I recently had a meeting with a senior executive from a global bakery equipment supplier who was talking to me about a major business development project i am supporting and new innovations which are being offered with industrial baking equipment. It came to me as a surprise how some pieces of equipment have moved forward and the advancements had been made in efficiencies and design.
Then i realised how some equipment pieces are still being used with basic technology which is more 30 years old if not older!
What will make our industry grow in terms of technology, what will it happen i ask myself? well it will be the demands of the end user in my view, yes us bakers who challenge companies that provide our equipment and ask the appropriate questions “why not” until then the industry will not move forward.
we have a responsibility to seek and innovate more than we do in the current time, remember when considering new bakeries challenge, innovate and be sustainable. thats what will drive the future advancement of our industry.
